The Arrival

Alicja comes back home to take her daughter Zosia to a family therapy retreat, part of Alicja's rehab. Despite having agreed to the trip before, Zosia's grandmother does not want to let her go. Alicja stays home for the weekend in an attempt to restore the closeness with her daughter. However, Zosia does not feel ready to let go of the pain that Alicja had caused her.

Director Biography - Justyna Pelc

Justyna Pelc was born on the 26th of July 1990 in Gdynia. She graduated from the Faculty of Management at the University of Gdańsk and from the Department of Film Directing at the Gdynia Film School. In 2013, she participated in the Pomerania Film Workshop and her film received the special mention prize at The One Minutes Festival in Gdańsk. Her film school diploma movie got into The 36. Youth and Cinema Festival in Koszalin, Poland.

Director Statement

This movie is important to me because I made an attempt to break taboo and certain stereotypes about addiction among women. Also while working on this subject I wanted to look closely into relations between all family members, especially how parent addiction influence it's child.
