L'appello | The Roll Call
A class of young kids faces the strong theme of collective pain and the memory of the deaths of Judges Falcone and Borsellino, finding the way to explain how you can truly understand, and teach, through memory.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino are two of the most important figures of the last decades of Italian history. In 2017, it is the 25th anniversary of their deaths caused by the mafia, two of the bloodiest and most deadly attacks on the state: the Capaci massacre and the massacre of Via d'Amelio, where also Falcone's wife and 11 bodyguards were killed.
Nowadays the Falcone Foundation, chaired by the judge's sister, Maria, is one of the most active in the culture of the Antimafia. Its educational activity is carried out in the field of legal education projects and is aimed at the children of the Italian schools.
With this in mind the short film “L'appello' was born, written and directed by Valerio Cicco together with the children of an Anzio school, a few kilometers from Rome, and sponsored by the Falcone Foundation on this commemorative date.

I was born on a June day of 1979 at 6:23 in the morning.
I grow up, play, read, draw and paint.
I study painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome where I paint large canvases in a continuing conflict between Abstract and Figurative.
One day on the way to go to Fine Arts Academy, while making my way to Via Ripetta I see Saatchi &Saatchi and I am so intrigued that I get into it.
I become an Art Director by Leo Burnet and Lowe Pirella where I am in charge of devising commercials and advertising campaigns.
I start my own business, a communications as well as video productions agency by the seashore in Anzio: www.linkitb.it
After a work experience in Berlin I begin to write on my Resumè Directed by
I go and buy a Canon, a Black Magic one and then a Sony.
I come up with fresh ideas, write and direct commercials with my company on behalf of italian and international brands such as: Peroni, Nastro Azzurro, Fmr, Auditorium, Italian Horror Fest, Colavita and Italyinthebox.
I always get back to the shoreline to think up and write stories, including my brief Bio.
