Amy Claire Nelson is a Durham-based documentary filmmaker and Park Fellow at UNC's School of Media and Journalism. She worked for eight years as an anchor and reporter for NPR affiliate WUNC. Her work has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists, NC Associated Press, Radio Television Digital News Association, Alliance for Women in Media Foundation and the Columbia Dupont Awards. She is the 2017 recipient of the Beckman Documentary Award.
