In the summer of 2016, The Himalayan Club organised an expedition to attempt the first ascent of Shahi Kangri (6934m) in the Eastern Karakoram mountain ranges. A five-member climbing team, accompanied by a young city lad keen for a new experience, set out together for this never-done-before task.

We explored the route to Shahi Kangri, and when we realised it wouldn't be possible, we attempted to scale Nya Kangri (6520m), a beautiful and yet unclimbed peak in the Eastern Karakoram.
