Nils Janssens (born in 1992 in Mechelen, Belgium) has been working on drawing and painting since his childhood. An art-academy wasn’t a place for him because he had to adhere to guidelines. Nils usually worked on his creative projects at home. In his teens he learned to handle some editing programs and lived out by making smaller audio-visual works. Later, his attention went more to the possibilities of special effects and through internet-tutorials, Nils went into it.
At the age of 16 (2008), Nils visited LUCA School of Arts (campus Sint Lukas Brussels) during an open campus day. He was attracted to the course of animation film because of the many creative possibilities to be found there. Nils wanted to learn how to handle the various animation tools and techniques. Two years later he started an education in animation film at Sint Lukas Brussels. Since 2014, Nils has created six short animated films including NINDE (2015) and LUVA (2016), already selected by International Film Festivals.
