Director Biography - Ashley Marshall

A North Carolina native, Ashley is a young filmmaker who has enjoyed working on films which span multiple genres. Her deep interest in the complexity of people drives all of her projects, including her documentary work focusing on community growth (Atlas of Recollections, 2014; Harvesting a Movement, 2016), as well as her poetic experimental (95 south, 2016). "They," her most recent documentary piece, is a collaborative effort by three close-knit filmmakers to explore the challenges and triumphs associated with being queer in the South. Above all else, Ashley hopes to create, share, and tell stories with films of all shapes and sizes.
