Back on the Map: East Cleveland rides the Klondike
This film follows a group of residents from 11 forgotten villages in rural Yorkshire as they prepare to host an elite international cycle race in an attempt to get their area back on the map. Inspired by the Tour de Yorkshire, they step forward as sponsors of the Klondike Grand Prix, and in the run up to the big day draw on old fashioned Yorkshire determination to overcome inexperience and local scepticism. Along the way they get the community to go cycling mad, and rebuild a fragile community spirit that has suffered from decades of neglect and economic deprivation.

After graduating in film and television production from Huddersfield University Reuben began his career as an Avid editor working on a range of productions in the corporate and marketing sector. After five years he moved in to camera operating and directing. 10 years ago he started his own video production company with his business partner. As a director Reuben has worked on over 400 productions; delivering high quality online promotions and marketing videos for a range of clients across the country. In addition to this he has worked on several social documentaries highlighting the groundbreaking and life changing work done by charities and other third sector organisations. My passion is capturing the real life stories of people who work tirelessly to change the lives of others and are often overlooked or forgotten. We aim to do this in an honest and thoughtful way in order to capture the real emotions and impact of this kind of work.
