Director Statement

"Dance as Scuplture" is a videoart installation that me and Luigi Formicola invented for a specific location: The Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence where three big arches built a natural frame or stage for the dancers. The video is shot in a studio with three different cameras with particular light conditions (a hard job for the dancers) and what the viewers see is a fourth dimension coming out from the shadow points in which dancers seem to fade and live. The Reinaissance sculptures of the site come alive with the perfect bodies of the dancers. The film is telling the story of the mith of Europe. Classical dance, modern dance and fusion elements has been melted in a poetic narration. The file uploaded is not the real video but a live shot of the installation. If requested can be uploaded also the original file.
