History of Goodness. Romanian Red Cross

The movie „History of Goodness. Romanian Red Cross” was conceived on the occasion of the anniversary of 140 years since the foundation of the Romanian Red Cross - the greatest humanitarian organization in Romania. It’s a time travel, a parallel between the past and the present, between how we used to do things and how we do them now. It’s about the fact that we haven’t changed our humanitarian mission not even in the most difficult times.

It was designated as a tribute to the countless generations of volunteers who, down the ages, assisted all those in need, alleviated the suffering, wounded and sick people during the war, cared for the children, young and old people in time of malaria, cholera, typhus and tuberculosis epidemics. They also contributed to reuniting families separated because of the war or because of the oppressive system. The movie is dedicated, also, to all the volunteers who, nowadays, carry on the humanitarian mission of the Romanian Red Cross.

The movie gathers testimonies from famous historians and veteran volunteers and interviews with the Secretary General of the IFRC, past and actual Presidents, Managers and the Ambassador of the Romanian Red Cross, employees, volunteers, beneficiaries and supporters. The movie also shows old documents and images from the National Film Archive and the National Museum of History.

„History of Goodness. Romanian Red Cross” it is a way to show our gratitude to the millions of volunteers that, in time, helped the organization to sustain it’s humanitarian mission
