Max Walter was set loose into this world in the cold winter of 1984, which he has been dealing with ever since. Primarily as a director, sound designer, musician and human being.
Dear Programmer,
This film tries to dance on the line between conventional and experimental filmmaking.
An over seven minutes long subjectiv point of view sequence simulates the ongoing decay of the protagonists eyesight. When the picture turns from blurry to black, the sound takes over and pushes the story further.
While you will be able to experience the horror of losing your eyesight, we also tell the story of an estranged son and his father and their ways of reconnecting.
The goal was to oppose the feelings of helplessness to the possible ways of regaining sens and structure to your live.
The content of this movie was developed through a lot of research. I spoke to a lot of people who have experienced a retinal detachment or a Macula degeneration and wrote the script with their help as well as designed the special effects off of their descriptions.I also studied the work of some of the wonderful, real blind photographers out there, like Evgen Bavcar or Sonia Soberats.
I hope you find it as worthwhile as I did.
Thank you for watching.
Max
