Wendy Placko's career has been defined by a passion for communication. For the past six years, she has developed practical skills in digital communications, including web development, content strategy and video marketing at Neuger Communications Group, a marketing and communications firm.
Placko has combined skills from her day job with years of theater arts experience in her independent filmmaking endeavors. Most recently, she wrote, directed, produced and starred in the web series “Lady Parts” with the support of a regional emerging artist grant and the collaboration with her creative principal cast members. Together they crafted the project to be a learning experience, creating work in a guerrilla style with a small crew. Placko was able to control the final vision of her work by creating and editing her own cuts alongside a mentor.
Wendy is looking forward to her next endeavor, a personal documentary project entitled ""Ghosted."" The project is a story about the disruption of the her coming of age after disappearing from her home town overnight.
Wendy currently works and resides with her husband Kevin and companion rabbit Annabell in Northfield, Minnesota.

Mixing humor with social commentary and the occasional violent outburst, Lady Parts is a six-episode, comedic web-series focusing on four women who become unlikely friends. The characters are first thrown together at a bachelorette slumber party sans bachelorette. They go on to overcome a lifestyle blogging addiction, endure awkward first dates, fight for professional respect, tackle artist’s block, and attend a feminist march (with scenes shot at the Women’s March in Saint Paul, Minnesota, on January 19, 2017).
Lady Parts was written, directed, filmed, and edited by a female-led crew. The project grew from a desire to create compelling female roles for local actresses and share stories relevant to their lives, all while giving women the opportunity to learn about the process of production.
