Recently graduated from Edge Hill University in Animation, Holly Bowler is heavily influenced in her creations by both foreign mythology and the Japanese culture. She has always been interested in film art and drawing, but was first inspired to put pen to paper in her early teens, when she began to watch Japanese anime. Going on to study Art and Graphic Design in High School and College, then working at Media City as a Post-Production Technician for two years, Holly eventually came to study Animation at university, creating several short animated films such as 'The Force of Nature'.
I love the idea of taking myths such as Vittra, that give barely enough information or explanation to understand in any solid form, and bringing them to life by twisting them into a wonderful, imaginative stories with interesting character backgrounds and details that draw you in. My animation style is predominantly 2D, but I think it would be even more exciting to begin to morph the depth of these created worlds with 3D CGI and stop motion.
