Director Statement

Orly Aviv is a visual multidisciplinary Israeli artist, whose works are strongly entangled with the mighty world of digital media. Her out-of-the-box, often revolutionary, creative vision of Aviv relies on her extensive academic background in science, art, and technology. Her artistic journey is marked by contemporary, investigating, and challenging creation.
Aviv is an explorer of Nature. During her multiple travels within her homeland and abroad, she is in a constant search for the magic of discovery. With the aim of empowering and repeating the experience, the artist documents the scene exactly as discovered, in its time and space, without intervention. The images are rich in color, beauty, sensuality, movement, and rhythm. They share the artist's deep emotional sense of amazement in the face of the wonders of the world.
Orly Aviv explores social issues and especially positive sustainability. This school of thought encourages the demonstration of the beautiful and the good as a motivational tool for environmental preservation.
Aviv's artworks are seen internationally and won many prizes. To mention a few: 56 Venice art Biennale, Florence Shanghai Prize, Israel Cultural Ministry Prize, Royal College of Art, London; 2012 Berlin Photo Month, 5th European Month of Photography at Ostkreuz, NY, Haun Tie Art Museum, Beijing; Festival of Light-Brazilia; National Centre for Contemporary Arts, Moscow; Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts; KAUNAS PHOTO Festival, Imagem DA Encontros, Braga, Portugal; Los Angeles, CA; CCCB. Barcelona; NY; Washington; Tel Aviv and many more.
