Devouring Venus

Every Sunday afternoon for years, two couples: Michael, Janet, Muriel, and Brian, have been coming together to share a meal. However this particular Sunday, the tone of the meal takes a darker turn when they are joined for dinner by an unexpected guest, Brian's young protégé, Erin.

Over the course of the afternoon, the group delves deeply into the conversationally taboo subjects of: religion, politics, and sex. As they talk, long hidden secrets are revealed. Hard truths come to the surface that must be faced. Will this be the their last meal together?

Director Biography - Marty Hardin

Marty Hardin is an award winning filmmaker who began his career in advertising as an art director, and then later expanded into copywriting and scriptwriting. He moved through the ranks to executive leadership roles as both a group creative director and as an agency producer for global Fortune 500 and 100 clients.

Marty’s 41 films have been broadcast on 5 continents, screened in galleries, museums, and screened at over 100 film festivals globally, including: Kühlhaus Berlin, The Krakow International Film Festival, ShoTime, The Southeastern Center of Contemporary Art, The Tiburon International Film Festival, The Cucalorus Film Festival, Amazon.com/Tribecca Online Film Festival, The Krakow and Warsaw Museums of Contemporary Art, Antimatter Media Arts Festival, New York Public Television, and many others.

Most recently, Hardin served as producer and director of photography on the feature film, "Brink", which is currently in post-production. He is also an Associate Producer and Advisory Board Member to Prinroc, Ltd’s production of, "The Twelve Dancing Princesses", which is currently in pre-production.

"Devouring Venus" is Marty's first feature film.

Director Statement

My goal with "Devouring Venus" was to deconstruct the way films are made. I've seen many brilliant actors have to deliver bad lines or have brilliant performances cut apart by the film making process. I restructured the traditional methodology to allow our actors to be able to be in the moment and to stay there. I feel we have a great case and the evidence is on the screen.
