Sweat

Sweat is based on a summertime street drama. A boy on his way to somewhere is worried about the little drinking water he is left with. Meanwhile a thirsty man comes to bus stop where the boy is waiting for his bus and surfing mobile chat. The man hesitates and asks for some water after sitting beside him. But the boy says that he doesn't have any. The man keeps staring at him. The boy starts sweating and tries to get involved with phone. While he has been involved the man is gone. Suddenly he comes to his sense and manages to catch his bus which was just leaving the stand by then. After getting a seat he continues panting and feels like consuming rest of the water he saved for the journey. But the moment he tries to get the bottle out of his backpack, discovers the man sitting right beside, staring at him. Drama continues.

Director Biography - Tias Banerjee

Tias Banerjee was born in 1991 at Kolkata. Art of film making has always been her center of interest. Coming from a Bengali middle class background it was not easy to choose film as a subject of study or profession. After completing post graduation in Bengali Literature from Jadavpur University she made up her mind to make films. Previously she worked with community radio under media studies and had Mass Communication as a subject in graduation but doesn't have any schooling in film making. 'Sweat' is her first film. It is the fruit of a passionate teamwork. She got no fund for it. Currently she is making a documentary.

Director Statement

As our first work it was a great experience. A healthy teamwork is proved to be more important than having talented crew or equipment. We are basically students since unemployed. So by our little means we managed to make a film. We enjoyed our work. Sweat is an ironical street drama where it's established that consciousness and hesitations inside a being sometimes create a tougher ambiance which is rather awkward to deal with. Hope people will like our first effort inspite of countless faults and limitations. Thank you.
