Director Biography - Glenn Fraser

From his pioneering work in interactive theatre in Australia in the ‘90s, through to his multi-award winning short films, Glenn has always sought to read the world through its darker reflections.

Over the years Glenn’s films have won recognition at the Sydney Film Festival, Tropfest, Sundance and Edinburgh. He has written and directed dozens of hours of animation, television, documentary and educational programming and created well-reviewed theatre pieces both in Sydney and in London. Glenn thrives on putting his ear to the heartbeats of the stories he discovers, and believes it crucial to walk in the shoes of the characters he creates. It’s through his experience in documentary truth that he believes in finding the integrity of a great narrative. Truth being stranger than fiction, and all that. Though a native of Australia, he has filmed extensively around the Middle East, Asia, the Americas and the UK where he lived for six years. He has a passion for languages and different cultures and enjoys translating the human experience to others around the world.

Glenn has contributed to diverse media journals such as Broadcast (UK), Cinema Papers and Inside Film. He has written and taught both theoretical and practical filmmaking courses at the prestigious Australian Film Television and Radio School and created its most popular Open Program, the Real Filmmaking Boot Camp and also at the University of Newcastle’s School of Creative Industries. Over the past three years, he has been working as Vice President - Creative for the groundbreaking transmedia company Transmedia Entertainment and is presently pioneering drop-in Virtual Reality technology for a number of applications.

In 2015 he cast and voice-directed the much-beloved and critically acclaimed 39 part HEIDI television series for Studio100 and has a trusted history of children’s television production at Ambience Entertainment.

Glenn has recently completed post production on a narrative film set in the worlds of human trafficking called THE VEILED and is prepping his psychological thriller DEADLANDS with Sparkplug Films.
