Director Biography - Immanuel Varghese

Immanuel, a passionate filmmaker and avid cinephile, began his artistic journey through school drama performances. Starting with minor roles, he gradually took on more significant parts, building the confidence that would later fuel his directorial aspirations.
His transition from acting to directing was marked by writing and helming a school play. This experience, combined with his growing interest in music, led him to direct a music video featuring his classmates while in 11th grade. Immanuel's musical pursuits continued as he formed and fronted a band, showcasing his talents as a lead vocalist and songwriter. Some of his early works can still be found on YouTube.
Immanuel's debut film, "131," was a testament to his resourcefulness and determination. Inspired by guerrilla filmmaking techniques, he completed the project within a 30-day schedule on a modest budget of $250. The film crew consisted entirely of talented non-professionals, with Immanuel handling the editing and color grading himself. Even the technical equipment was custom-designed by the crew.
Although he later shelved a project called "Paperman," Immanuel's passion for cinema remains undimmed. While this brief introduction offers a glimpse into his background, his films truly speak for themselves, showcasing his unique vision and storytelling prowess.
