Director Statement

Drawing inspiration from a couple of specific encounters, I have begun work on an integrated and personal form of storytelling. On a visit to the Museum of the Moving Image (NYC), I became fascinated by an interactive exhibit that allows the viewer to choose different musical excerpts to accompany the same movie clip. The contrasting emotional effect invoked by each option was a revelation. Soon after, I discovered the animated films of William Kentridge and began to experiment with the interaction of songs and “drawings that move”.
