ALICE NO. 5
Vocalist, Tamara Tunie
Music by Eric Scott Reed
Lyrics by Charles Leipart
THERE IS A CERTAIN SOMETHING IN THE AIR,
A LOVELY EFFERVESCENCE—
COULD YOU BE THE ESSENCE?
--OF DELICIOUS ADOLESCENCE WE MIGHT SHARE?
HMMMMM, AHHHHH!!
I’VE A PRIVATE LINE OF FRAGRANCE
DISTILLED FROM SOCIAL VAGRANTS,
WHO JUST LIKE YOU, HAVEN’T GOT A CLUE.
SINCE YOU DON’T KNOW WHO YOU ARE,
LET ME PUT YOU IN A JAR
AND CALL YOU-- ALICE NO. 5!
AH, THE PROFIT, I CAN SMELL IT!
FOR WHAT YOU’VE GOT, WE’LL SELL IT.
WE’LL FILL THE ROOM WITH YOUR SWEET PERFUME.
VAPORIZED AND SPRITZ’D AND WHIFF’T,
MAKES THE PERFECT HOSTESS GIFT!
PACKAGED AS— ALICE NO. 5!
ALICE NO. 5— OH, YES!
ALICE NO. 5— NO JIVE!
YOUR INNOCENCE AND YOUTH SURVIVE,
BOTTLED UP AS NO. 5!
ALICE NO. 5— FOR SALE!
ALICE NO. 5— RETAIL!
TONIGHT IN JAZZLAND, YOU ARRIVE!
PURCHASE HER AS NO. 5—
ALICE NO. 5— OH, YES!
ALICE NO. 5— NO JIVE!
ALICE NO. 5— RETAIL.

Ms. Tunie has performed with such incomparable musicians as Mike Renzi, Billy Stritch, and Roger Humphries, to name a few, and has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Penn State University Allegheny County’s Student Scholarship Fund, with her performances at ALL THAT’S JAZZ! She has graced the stage at the beautiful state of the art theatre at Malloy College’s MADISON THEATRE. She has also performed for the Mabel Mercer Foundation at TOWN HALL and at SYMPHONY SPACE, bringing down the house with music from Billie “Lady Day” Holiday to Cole Porter. Another critic wrote, “Tunie SWINGS, sings great, looks great!”
Having studied classically and with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University, Ms. Tunie added Jazz several years ago and has performed at the legendary ALLEN ROOM of JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER, and FEINSTEIN’S at the REGENCY.
