Director Statement

This piece originally started as a devised movement theater piece created with trainees for Anne Bogart's SITI company. I was interested in exploring what i thought to be underlying subtext of Macbeth: namely, the passion and desperation of young love, and what happens when nothing of that love comes to fruition (or dies.) The idea of doing the entire thing in remixed Shakespearian verse was just an aesthetic indulgence -- I wanted to challenge myself to do something weird and wonky. This leans on the more experimental side of things, but I hope you enjoy it.
