Director Biography - Yaz Canli

Yaz Canli grew up singing, dancing and acting in Europe.
She received a diploma in dramatic arts in Germany and has been active in the film/tv industry mainly in Los Angeles for the past 6 years.
Yaz has starred in numerous productions as an actress and since 2011 started to explore different roles in pre-production; on set and post production in various independent projects.
This is where her passion to create something herself grew.

'Walt & Ich' is her film debut as a writer/director.
She is enthusiastic about the creative path and endlessly thankful for her strong team that helped her bring this film to life.

Director Statement

I am interested in telling stories that move, touch and/or inspire people, no matter where they are from. I am interested in telling those stories in a beautifully artistic and eye pleasing way. With my background of growing up with a German mother and a Turkish father all over Europe and later on in the US, I bring a vast palette of personal experiences to my view point as a female director.
