Director Biography - Narr Merriett Jr

Bernarr Ramon Merriett Jr, also known to most as Narr Ramon, was created by two Jamaican immigrant parents and assembled in Queens, NY. A sibling to 2 younger brothers and 1 older sister, I first got the directing bug when my mother brought home a pair of binoculars that also recorded video with no sound (very creepy). With those binoculars, I created 3 short silent films with my friends that are now lost but at one point was accidentally uploaded to Limewire. After high school, a degree in graphic design and years of not knowing what to do with myself, I decided to take some film classes at LIU POST and created two short films D.R.U.G.S and Ballet in the Shadows. The first won semi-finalist at the MCNY while the latter was submitted to Brisk partnership Creators Class Program with Michael B Jordan which lead me to be selected as a Filmmaker finalist and flown out to LA to meet with some amazing people, sit in on a production meeting between Brisk and Sony and help on set as a commercial was being shot. I plan on doing a lot more very soon.

The first film to spark my creativity was the 1987 sci-fi film Robocop. So my dream Film to create will always be a cyberpunk futuristic dystopian set in the far gritty future with nods to the 80s.
