Youth for a Cause: Community Plumbing Challenge
For Wayne, Siddhant and Kenneth, Media Studies was just a class they took once a week for 3 hours a time, However when the opportunity arose to go to Nashik, India to shoot and produce 2 videos for the Community Plumbing Challenge in November 2015, they rose up to the task, and soon realised that they had much to learn and prepare for this rare opportunity. With their youthful energy & spirit of adventure, they embarked on their tasks, applying what they learnt in the classroom to the real world. Despite being rather new to the realm of film-making, they went with the sole purpose of serving the community. Through this meaningful project, they were enriched by the deep cultural learning and expanded their film-making repertoire. Using raw footage from the on-site filming at Nashik, India, they stitched together and narrated their experiences; the challenges they faced and the learning that emerged from trial and error. Through the making of this documentary, they concretised their beliefs that youths can make a positive impact on society when they pitch their skills together for a good cause.
