Jimmy Prosser is a film and television writer living in Los Angeles. He is a graduate from New York University's (NYU) Tisch School of the Arts, Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, where he studied Dramatic Writing and Producing. His pilot script, "John & Meryl," was selected by NYU Tisch faculty as an Outstanding TV Thesis and performed at a staged reading by professional actors at the inaugural NYU TV Festival in 2018. It won the Empire Award for TV-Pilot Drama at the New York Screenplay Contest (2018) and was a Finalist/Runner Up in Script Pipeline's "First Look Project" and the 2018 ITVFest script competition. Jimmy's original screenplay for the short film, "Noteworthy" (2018), won several awards, including Best Original Screenplay Short, London Independent Film Awards (2017); Best Screenplay (Short), Los Angeles International Film Festival (2017); and Best Screenplay, Top Shorts Film Festival (2017); Top Script, London Lift-Off Film Festival (2018). Jimmy's Better Call Saul spec script, “Queso,” won 2nd Place in the 2018 Scriptapalooza TV One Hour Competition, and won the 2017 TV Screenplay / Web Series Feedback Festival, including a staged reading of his script. It also was a Finalist at the 2018 Cannes Screenplay Awards. In addition, Jimmy's original animated comedy pilot, "Flop and Rage," was a Winner, TV Comedy, in the Filmmatic Screenplay Awards (Season 2) and Semi-Finalist & Official Selection at the Austin Revolution Film Festival (2017).
Jimmy has worked as a Development Intern with The Weinstein Company/Dimension Films, Paramount Pictures, and DIGA Studios.
