Frosted Glass
Jenny (a journalist) is interviewing Dan (a poet) about living with mental illness. Dan also has Asperger's Syndrome and has created a book of the poems that he wrote as a way of coping.
Jenny appears to be rather ignorant about the topic of mental illness and this causes some friction between them. Dan takes her on a series of surreal flashbacks where she see first-hand the events that triggered his condition, including religion, ignorance, boredom, concrete, the prejudice of others, the unprofessionalism of work colleagues, the conniving of authority and how he has found ways of coping, through faith, poetry, writing, performing, creation and experience.
After one particularly traumatic episode she accidentally reveals her own similar struggles which she is desperate to keep secret from the prejudice of her employer and the world at large. She takes Dan on an even more harrowing flashback-journey through infidelity, divorce, nervous breakdown, near suicide and the death of loved ones. Through their combined experiences they find that they had a lot more in common than they thought, and the film ends with the possibility that they could provide each other with the love that they need.

I learned my skills from many of the top directors and DoP’s in the 80’s as a movie and TV actor. ‘I was always fascinated with how a film was made and would pester the HOD’s about their techniques and problem solving.
Since 1994 I have worked as a ‘DoP’ and director on many dramas, music promos and documentaries and commercials for the large or small screen. On many films over the last 15 years, I have refined my skills of editing and directing which only makes me a better all round film maker, by knowing what coverage is needed by DoP’s & editors, and what pressures the producers and directors experience.
In 2016 I shot mostly in 4-5K High definition Raw files on Red EPIC Cameras through PL mount cinema lenses or 35 mm Nikon stills lenses . Enjoying a shallow depth of field and giving that ‘film’ look so popular in this ‘high tech small crew’ new world of digital Cinema and Television.
Today I strive to be one of England’s top all round film makers. My work has contributed to many award winning films. (The Grammy’s, Acapulco film festival, the Huston Film festival and London DVD awards, LA’s Scare-fest and British Independent Film Awards 2007, to name but a few).
