Teancum
During the 1st century BC in the rainforests of Mesoamerica two great nations fought bitter wars. Magnificent thriving cities were the prize. Heroes rose to defend a fragile democracy, amongst them a nation's greatest warrior, a man named 'Teancum'.
This warfare coincides with war over fortified cities in the Maya lowlands known as the pre-classic collapse which began around 75bc. This civilization can be seen in LiDAR analyses in the contiguous Mirador-Calakmul Karst Basin, Guatemala: an introduction to new perspectives on regional early Maya socioeconomic and political organization
