Unlocked
In a future world governed by artificial intelligence, universal basic income is provided to those whose jobs have been automated. Kev is a professional dancer with a unique style who enjoys a higher quality of life by providing entertainment for the masses on social media. Struggling to bring in enough likes with his off-beat style, he is on the brink of losing his entertainer privileges. A device capable of unlocking his mind offers him a solution but further blurs the line between technology and reality.

Mat Rich is an emerging director who is passionate about technology, politically involved and critical about our society. He has a passion for creating science fiction. His approach to the genre is inspired by Quebec Cinema, which focuses on interpersonal stories and internal conflicts. His films bring us to question current technologies and their potential influence on society and human behaviour. He quickly made a name for himself through his work on music videos for renowned artists like Ghislain Poirier and AfrotroniX, which played on televisions across the world. His constant use and understanding of urban dance made him a reference in the dance scenes of Montreal and across the world. He has a natural ability to reach a large public with captivating storylines focused on current issues.
