Director Biography - Rebecca Busch

Filmmaking came to me late in life. For many years I studied and wrote screenplays. Always envisioning what they would look like on screen. At 55 I decided it was time to quit dreaming about making movies and actually do it. So having no formal education or experience in filmmaking I made my first film, "Got No Fetish". A film that clearly represents itself as a "first timers" film.
Killer Bees is my second film project. I took what I learned from my first filmmaking venture and with the help of other female filmmakers went about producing a film that would not only be a story about older women, but would also be the end product of a collective effort by a majority of female filmmakers. Killer Bees Is over 80% powered by women.
I have other projects in the works. They will be longer in length and include more female filmmakers.

Director Statement

Killer Bees was the first film project that we personally pursued after forming the Wilmington Female Filmmakers Collective. This film project was created to give older female actors the opportunity to continue acting as well as providing aspiring female filmmakers a chance to explore, participate and contribute in the filmmaking experience.
