CHILDREN OF THE WORLD
At our school's desks this year two children, migrants from Iran and Afghanistan, attend lessons in Croatian. The documentary film follows their life story. Through an interview with a graduated social worker Marija we learn who migrants, refugees and asylum seekers are. How they spend time in the Reception Centre. How many asylum seekers exercise the right to international protection in Croatia a year and what happens to those who do not get the right.

I am Nera Gunjević, a student of the PRIMARY SCHOOL of Stjepan Kefelje, Kutina from Croatia. I was born 27.2.2004. year in Sisak, Croatia. From the 5th grade I am a member of the film group of our school. The mentor of the film group in our school is the teacher of technical culture Goran Šporčić. Every year we make several successful films (feature, documentary, experimental) with the film group. Some of them were also rewarded at international festivals such as the documentary film "Korita" - special award "Đakovački rezovi" 2016, "The Dubrovnik Film Festival for the Children and the Youth of the Mediterranean Countries" - the best children's documentary film 2016. The Film Group has been working since the beginnings of our school. Throughout its history of activity, it gathered around the numerous children of this school, who expressed their creativity in this way. For years, the club has been participating in the movie's rehearsals.
It was very interesting to record a documentary film "Children of the World". We learned a lot. What is the difference between migrants, refugees and asylum seekers? Who are asylum seekers and where do they come from? What rights they have in the Republic of Croatia and all that needs to be taken into account when they are taking care of them at the Reception Center. What about those who do not realize the right of international protection. And we also visited the Asylum Center.
