Made in Marianna: The Legend of Super Wolfe
In 1956 WDIA transmitted soul music past the Mighty Mississippi; 58 miles away into Marianna, Arkansas. There a 6 year old James E. Wolfe, Jr. listened intently while working with his family in the cotton fields of Lee County. A battery powered transistor radio was the genesis of a desire and a goal for Wolfe.

“Hop on the bus.”
That was my favorite phrase as a sports anchor. After a decade of reporting and anchoring at a pair of ABC affiliates in the Southeast, I transitioned into mentoring and teaching. Summers off gave way to writing features and columns for a USA Today Network paper in my hometown. I started my own video production company in 2016 and completed my first documentary film - Made in Marianna: The Legend of Super-Wolf in February.
My passion is sharing stories of courage and progress by way of print and film. Presenting my works with African-American History and Mass Communications classes is my goal in 2017.
