In case you're wondering, a Sidearoadia is my family's word for a bouquet of flowers picked from the side of the road. The story for Sidearoadia is based on a dream I had about being a camp counselor and becoming friends with a teen age girl at the camp after my dog had died. While many elements of the story have changed, the basic core of this unique friendship based in grief remained. The film was crewed by faculty, staff, and students at the University of Central Arkansas and was shot primarily in the central Arkansas region, with the flashbacks shot on the gulf coast of Sarasota, Florida. The cast are primarily professional actors from the Little Rock area (the animals are strictly amateur). One of the goals of the film was to highlight the natural beauty of the central Arkansas region.
