What makes 100 Screenplays different? The difference in 100 Screenplays begins with how it was created. Screenplay Festival, the parent company of 100 Screenplays, accepts an unlimited number of scripts just as all other screenwriting competitions do. A direct effect of accepting so many screenplays is that it takes several months to determine the winner.
One of the judges for Screenplay Festival had an idea, “What if we had a contest where we limited the number of entries to one hundred? We could get them read quickly and select the winner very quickly.” This idea was thrown around the office until it grew into 100 Screenplays.
Now, instead of sending off their script and having to wait ages to hear the results, screenwriters can send in their scripts and find out who won in no time. And those writers will also never have to wonder how many scripts they are up against. (This is one of the most common questions Screenplay Festival receives.) They are in a pool of one hundred scripts, and their chance of winning is vastly increased by the smaller number of scripts accepted into each contest.
Each screenplay contest at 100 Screenplays has a First Prize Winner, a Second Prize Winner, and a Third Prize Winner. These winners are selected based solely upon the quality of each screenplay, and are awarded regardless of genre or subject matter.
100 Screenplays features the following Prizes:
Money. The First Prize Winner of each 100 Screenplays contest will receive a $500.00 cash prize.
Recognition. The First, Second, and Third Prize winners will have their win announced to industry professionals, as well as the loglines of their winning screenplays listed permanently on the 100 Screenplays website to promote inquiries into their work.
Recognition. Every First Prize winning contestant will receive the following prizes from sponsor InkTip.com.
An e-mail announcement about their winning screenplay to approximately 6,500 industry professionals.
Placement of at least the scripts logline and synopsis on InkTip.com’s password protected web site. Grand Prize winners may also place their treatment and/or script.
InkTip.com will include a logline (pitch) for Grand Prize winning screenplays in their printed publication, which is snail-mailed to approximately 5,000 Industry Professionals.
More recognition: 100 Screenplays is sponsored by the Los Angeles based film festival "Film Invasion L.A." and all winners, both the top 3 and official selections, will be honored in a public ceremony with an audience! Winners will also receive free All Access passes to the film festival.
