Director Statement

I loved this quirky little script by Rudy Pavich (a former acting student of mine, who also stars in the film!) What I loved most about it is that on the surface, there is a really oddly funny story about the (bizarre) death of this couple's dog--but on a deeper level, the story really is about whether or not this couple has the fortitude to handle deeper issues; like staying committed, being honest with each other, and parenting. This issue becomes a "testing ground" for their relationship. Will they survive this issue or is it time to call it quits? I'm especially proud that we had so many women on our crew, which is one of the missions of my non-profit, fiscally sponsored production company.
