Director Biography - Jack Pratt

Jack Pratt is a Michigan-based filmmaker drawn to all things cinema. With an eye for macabre aesthetics and a passion for wordless storytelling, he creates jarring visual stories that redefine boundaries; Jack aims to create a synergetic exploration of the senses.

He is the recipient of the Media Arts & Entertainment Technology Award from Mott Community College's film program where he studied video production. Jack continued his education focusing on live television, earning his bachelor's in Media & Information from Michigan State University. However, his most-valued learning experiences include the hands-on approach of filming professionally throughout the United States.

When Jack isn't serving as writer, director, editor, or producer, you'll find him couch-deep in the latest daring piece of cinema with his pet rats by his side.

Director Statement

I consider this film a celebration, a triumphant coming-out fable that does not shy away from the literal messiness of accepting oneself. Blending themes oft associated with my work - biting satire, social criticism, partiality for visual repugnance - and retching it out on screen in a fully dressed, writhing ball of horror was an absolute pleasure for me. I hope you find it as challenging and rewarding as I did during its creation.
