The Folkway Film Festival celebrates stories told the folk way by showcasing creative and innovative films across the Appalachian region.

We are offering three categories for filmmakers to submit to:
Documentary Short
Narrative Short
Avant-Garde / Music Video

Opportunities to purchase tickets to the event will be announced in the coming weeks. All ticket sales for the festival will be donated to the Fayette County Humane Society in Fayette County, West Virginia.

The Folkway Film Festival takes place March 18, 2020 at Cathedral Cafe in Fayetteville, West Virginia. Time of event is TBA.

Winners from each category: Documentary Short, Narrative Short, and Avant-Garde will be awarded:

- $200 cash prize
- The Folkway Film Festival Certificate Award
- Recognition at the event
- Will be announced and listed on The Folkway's website and social media pages

All submitting filmmakers and film settings must be located or originate from within the Appalachian region, or from one of following states:

Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia.

All films must be less than 30 minutes in length.

All submissions must be made within the submission deadline and pay the appropriate submission fee.

Commercials will not be accepted into the festival.
