Writer Biography - Spencer McCall, Eric Cuffney, Colin Hayes, James Bristow

Spencer McCall has spent the last ten years orchestrating socio-reengineering and public hoax-prank performance art pieces. An avid fan of the Yes Men, McCall began by participating in Improv Everywhere inspired events, “plant” based roles in The Go Game, and location-based performances with Atmos-theater. In 2009, he became a co-creator of the Jejune Institute; a city-wide alternate reality game in San Francisco that lasted three years and “inducted” over 10,000 unknowing participants. McCall took his experience working with Jejune and turned it into an award-winning documentary “The Institute”. His film is currently being remade into a series by Jason Segel on AMC. McCall also helped to create Jejune’s follow-up experience The Latitude Society; a faux secret society with an underground experiential labyrinth beneath San Francisco. Since then, he has aided in Demand Protest, an elaborate hoax that garnered national news coverage and landed him an appearance on Tucker Carlson; where he confused and amused Carlson and America. Washington Post described it as one of the most bizarre on-camera interviews ever broadcast. Following the broadcast, McCall (still in character as Dominic Tullipso) was invited to a dinner with Tucker Carlson and his friend Billy Bush where they discussed the possibility of joining Fox News as a comedic contributor… a “right-wing Stephen Colbert” they said. McCall declined due to his strong “guerrilla-centrist” convictions but enjoyed sharing the dinner and chatting with Bush and Carlson about their love of the Grateful Dead. McCall is passionate about teaching people to look up and interact with the world in pervasive and unconventional ways. These methods may at times be shocking and uncomfortable but never with the intent to antagonize or belittle the convictions of those involved. A scholar of conspiracy theories and the art of investigating/crafting alternative beliefs, McCall is an avid agnostic/seeker, open to accepting beliefs that run the gamut. In a world that is overly cynical and dismissive, he is brave enough to listen and remain curious. McCall is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Film and Animation He is also an experienced expert in dog cloning, having worked as a documentarian and media evangelist for Genetic Savings and Clone and Best Friends Again.
