Show your film at the Hollywood Theatre's one-of-a-kind microcinema at Portland International Airport!

In partnership with the Port of Portland, the Hollywood Theatre has created a 22-seat movie theater space in the airport’s C Concourse, serving the Portland International Airport’s 16 million annual visitors, who can drop in free of charge to watch films while waiting for their flights. The Hollywood Theatre at the Portland International Airport (PDX) features short films telling stories specific to the Pacific Northwest.

Please note that we accept films on a rolling basis.

Our Microcinema is capable of Dolby Atmos playback, so we encourage filmmakers to submits shorts mixed in Atmos. (Atmos can be mixed quite inexpensively using Pro Tools and binaural headphones: see avidblogs.com/creating-atmos-mixes-with-headphones).

The Hollywood is looking for short films to be screened at our airport theatre location. Please note that our program is updated quarterly with new films, and we accept submissions on a year-round basis. We review submissions every 3-4 months.

To be considered for screening at the Hollywood Theatre @PDX, all submissions must meet the following criteria:

Films:
Must be created by a local/regional artist or concern issues relating to Oregon or the Pacific Northwest
Must be appropriate for a general audience (G-rated). This includes restrictions on language, images of violence and weaponry, drug references, and any other "adult" content.
Must be 10 minutes or shorter in length

Must be of high quality
Must be original content
Must not be or contain advertisements

The filmmaker/film submitter agrees that:
If their film is selected for the project, an exhibition-quality digital file (in an agreed upon file format) is required to arrive at the Hollywood Theatre office at least two weeks in advance of project cycle start date.

Any non-English language films must have onscreen English subtitles.

All insurance costs covering shipping of film exhibition copy to and from the Hollywood Theatre office are the responsibility of the filmmaker/film submitter.

All shipping costs covering shipping of the film exhibition copy to the Hollywood Theatre office are the responsibility of the filmmaker/film submitter.

Films submitted for consideration must have previously obtained all legal copyright clearances, licenses, and permissions for materials contained within the films (picture and audio). By submitting a film to the project, the submitter certifies that they are the copyright owner of the film or are authorized by the copyright owner to submit the film and that it has been legally cleared for public exhibition.

Film submitter agrees to grant the Hollywood Theatre the right to exhibit the film at the Hollywood Theatre @PDX, as well as potential additional public screenings, and for the Hollywood Theatre to use up to thirty (30) seconds of footage excepted from the film and all submitted press kit materials in advertising and promotions.

An opportunity for digital download of the film may be made available to the public through the Hollywood Theatre online channels and is subject to negotiation.

If a legal claim arises in connection with the submitted film, the filmmaker/person/company submitting the film for entry agrees to bear all costs incurred by the Hollywood Theatre @PDX in defense of the claim, including full payment of all damages, due royalties, and reimbursement of all incurred attorney fees and travel fees.
Submission to the project is a Declaration of Ownership of copyright of the film by the owner or authorized representative of owner.

By entering a film submission, you are indicating that you understand, comply with, and agree to the project's General Rules, Terms, and Conditions and the submissions, eligibility, and exhibition copies' requirements.
