NOTE: We have added MARCH 31 Deadline for our Summer Series

YoungFilmmakers at NewFilmmakers is a unique screening series for High School and College age filmmakers.

After many years in theaters, we have taken an exciting new direction with YoungFilmmakers and NewFilmmakers called NewFilmmakersPlus which will move our festival into the digital age and allow us to reach international audiences.

While theaters have been closed, our online audiences have greatly exceeded those in theaters. With NewFilmmakers Plus we have added audience participation missing in most online screenings with GroupView, which allows filmmakers, cast, and crew as well as audience members to watch and comment on films together.

In addition our films will now be available for one month and screenable any time of the day instead of only one night. This allows more people to see our films and makes it easier to set up a screening event with friends and colleagues. As requested we are switching to filmmaker hosted files utilizing unlisted links which will eliminate the need to transcode and to send us large files as well as giving filmmakers control over their film.

In today’s world online screenings, whether in a film festival or on NetFlix, give filmmakers worldwide audiences instead of limited local ones. With NewFilmmakers Plus filmmakers not only reach worldwide audiences but can interact with them as they would at a traditional theater.

As an artist, I create projects that make a difference and shed light on subject matters deserving of more attention from society and from the filmmaking community. We're thrilled that YoungFilmmakers saw the importance of including "The Worst Day of My Life". Creating a ripple effect that helps change the direction of people's lives. It's such an honor and we appreciate the hard work that goes into putting together a Festival and shining a light for so many. This festival is organized and communicative, and I plan to submit all my upcoming films to this wonderful platform! Thanks so much!

The venue alone should be an impetus for any filmmaker to submit to YoungFilmmakers and Newfilmmakers Film Festivals. Anthology Film Archives is an iconic cultural institutions instrumental in the preservation and presentation of classic and emerging international cinema. Just to be screened in the same place that houses and shows so many films that have inspired our film journey was a blessing and an honor. I highly recommend this film festival. Everything from communication, to reception of Official Selection laurels to the screening were stellar. Thank you for including our short film, Stolen Moments in 2017.

This is a quality festival that really cares about showcasing and encouraging young, up-and-coming filmmakers. We got to go to NYC and have our film screened at an awesome, landmark venue - Anthology Film Archives. We also got to participate in a live-streamed Q&A about our film. Overall it was a very positive experience. I would recommend for any young filmmakers or student filmmakers to submit to this festival!
