The Los Angeles Core Independent Film Festival is a home for memorable film, series and video content. Whether you make short films, feature films, music videos, comedy sketches, travel vlogs, documentaries, experimental narratives, or screenplays: We love them all! We love a variety of different content. The more varying, the more interesting! We embrace change in the world of storytelling. We're here to bring your amazing stories to the next level amidst the entertainment industry.

The Core Official Selections, Finalists and Award Winners get to premiere at our annual International Film Festival. With that, all of our filmmakers get their place in the official Core Catalog permanently, are invited to be a part of the private Filmmaking Network, and of course, are all automatically in the running to win at our AWARDS CEREMONY.

With all that, we've also partnered up with SMG Media, which will allow all of our finalist films to be eligible for distribution deals. In short, this partnership is designed to help filmmakers earn revenue through film distribution with Shami Media Group, if they're interested in exploring that option.

Our main goal is to bring value and shed light onto creations that deserve love, and to form connections between inspiring creators in the film world. We want independent filmmakers to get some of the recognition that they deserve, and become a part of our greater film network.

Whether a finalist or not, all officially selected filmmakers will be invited to join us at the Los Angeles Core Film Festival for 72 hours full of value and a whole lot of fun.

The Los Angeles Core Film Festival selections will be judged and decided on by award-winning independent filmmakers working in the industry.

Rules & Terms

-All entries should be sent via FilmFreeway with a secure Online Screener.

-Each accepted film must be submitted in the .mp4 or .mov format, preferably.

-By submitting to the festival you confirm that you own the rights of the film, including the rights to the music in the film.

-Only works with a maximum running time of 30 minutes or less are eligible.

-There is no minimum running time.

-Films must have been completed on or after Jan 1, 2019.

-All genres are welcome (narrative, animated, experimental, documentary or music video).

-Filmmakers may submit multiple entries as long as each film is submitted with its own Entry Form, Online Screener and paid Entry Fee.

-If submitted as a student entry, some form of proof of being a student must be provided (either a student ID or recent transcript.)

-Submission fees are non-refundable
