I started my photographic life at age 15 when I was first published in my hometown newspaper in Western Pennsylvania. Since then, I have worked at 11 different publications from Maine to Washington. Along the way in those 25 some years I collected 11 Photographer of the Year titles including POYI International Newspaper of the Year honors in the 59th POYI competition sponsored by the University of Missouri. However, those accolades pale in comparison to my better half "Rabbit" who still is a staff photojournalist at the S-R. She along with my son Jordan they have championed my day in and day out passion, obsession and determination for being a visual storyteller since leaving the print world 11 years ago. I believe that when one becomes confident and settled in a particular style it's best to set the bar higher and move on. The world of motion is rewarding, frustrating, exhausting and I love every moment of it. I meticulously practice my craft no less than 10 hours a day every day. I'm more passionate about photography now than I have ever been before.
