Last 20 years Roopak Gogoi worked in content development and programming of a number of Television Channels in India. Gangs of North East is his first Full length Feature film as a director,
He is a post graduate from Pune University (1996) and directed and produced a number of television shows, before venturing into programming, Ideation and content development for television.
Rupak believes in inclusive content that reflects human rights and social issues.
Born in Assam, north eastern corner of India, In his childhood, he has seen child labours, anti foreigner movement of 80's, army operations to curb separatist movements 90's, and secret killings of 1998-2000.
he wants to use Film as a medium of reflection of his childhood memoirs and communicate the issues of human rights. the impotance of an inclusive society, an world of co existance where there's acceptance of each other's religion, beliefs and faith.
