Let's Start Over

Homeless on the streets, Jackson has a chance encounter with a former acquaintance, who was partially responsible for his current fate. Moments after the encounter a mysterious stranger shows up, pausing to read Jackson’s beat up, cardboard sign. Rather than offering him money, this mysterious man in Shades offers him something far more valuable, the chance to start over. Placing him at a point of limbo between what is so and what is possible. Jackson now has to traverse through a world he doesn’t fully understand to change his fate for the better, or risk repeating his life all over again.

Director Statement

Throughout the course of my life as a writer and filmmaker I have been drawn to stories that explore the nuances of human emotion. Whether it’s the passionate, sometimes comical, drive caused by competition, like in “Cornhole: The Movie”, or the dark side of control and power, triggered by fear and greed, as shown with “Street Runners”. Of all the emotional experiences I’ve examined however, none has felt as profound as regret. “Let’s Start Over” allowed me to explore the world of regret with fresh eyes, letting me walk between a world set by a past mistake, and a mystical world bleeding into that past filled with fresh possibilities. Here I got to give my main character Jackson, the opportunity to relive his worst moment, and with new insight, gave him the chance to do something we all wish we could have done at point or another; start over.
