Ischia Films of the Year 2020 is the winter section of the Ischia Global Film Festival.
It runs from Jan 28th to 31st on the Isle of Ischia, a few miles off Naples and Capri, Italy.

1. The works can be feature films, documentaries and shortcuts. The shortcuts must run by 20 minutes. The International language works should include the English subtitles, the pressbook with the artistic and tecnical information and the eventual attendance in other Festival.

2. Whoever holds the rights of the same or who is legitimately authorized by the right holders must register the work.

3. The works are exclusively and unquestionably selected by the Scientific Board of the Festival with the support of international luminaries. The works will be chosen based on artistic quality and social depth.

4. Ischia Global – Films of the Year 2020 bears feature films and documentaries already released in theatres and/or on the platforms together with those that will be previewed. The selected ones will be communicated via e-mail to Contest participants.

5. The Prize consists in a Mermaid made of metal by the Campanian artist Lello Esposito. There is no cash prize.

6. The director, and / or the production, and / or the cast and members of the Award Winner titles will be invited to accompany their work to the Festival.

7. Italian works that have achieved international interest will be presented to the Board and the audience with English subtitles.

8. The copies of the films selected by the Festival must be received by the General Office of the Festival, in Rome, not later than December 15, 2020, in compliance with the instructions provided by the Planning Department. Together with the copy of the film (in DCP or Bluray format), the participants must send a press book with technical and artistic information on the work, photos, trailers and any other promotional material that can be distributed to the press and published on the Festival website and social media. Shipping costs are charged to the participants. Shipments from non-EU countries must display the words "no commercial value, for cultural purposes only". There is no fee for the screening of the works as part of the Ischia Global - Film of the Year 2020

9. The films will be returned to their owners not later than January 15, 2020.

10. The Festival Management will take care of the publication of a general catalog (paper and digital) of the works presented.

11. The calendar of screenings and time table will be made known by the Festival Management not later than December 20th. The Festival organization is not responsible for any changes due to unexpected circumstances (climate conditions, technical issues, problems linked to the artists’ visit to Capri, etc.). The official program will be printed and made available by the Festival Management which will notify submitters and attendees about these changes through the Festival’s website www.ischiaglobalcom.

12. All the works (in any format) will be protected against any type of risk that may damage the copies, including their loss or theft by an insurance policy. Said policy is obtained by the Capri in the World Institute and covers the period during which the properties are in the possession of the Festival. In case a copy is lost or damaged, the responsibility of the Festival will be limited to the value of its reprint according to the Italian fees.

13. The present guidelines are written in Italian and English. In case of any issue generated by the interpretation of the rules, the Italian version prevails.

14. Any application aimed at being included in this Contest implies full acceptance of the present guidelines.

15. The Festival Board can make decisions about issues which are not included in these guidelines. Any controversy will be dealt with by the Court of Naples.
