GET SMART FILM FESTIVAL

Welcome to the film festival celebrating independent short films made on smartphones and tablets. 2021 represents the second year of the festival, running in partnership with Bradford UNESCO City of Film.

The aim is to celebrate the works of independent filmmakers. Gone are the days when a £50,000 camera is required to make a film. We want to encourage filmmakers to use one of the most popular devices of the modern age, the smartphone, to get creative and shoot their own films.

The festival takes place over three nights at a venue in Bradford, West Yorkshire with the rest of the festival taking place online.

All films in the official selection will compete for awards in the following categories with awards presented to the winners at the closing night awards event.

Best Fiction
Best Documentary
Best Bradford Film
Best Youth Film
Best 60 Second Film

It was a great honor to have my film, A Flying Squirrel's Tale, recognized by a film festival that really cares about filmmakers.
