The Fulbright Association - Los Angeles Film Festival showcases the works of artists from around the world who are current grantees or alumni of the prestigious Fulbright Program, the U.S. government's flagship international exchange program designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.

The Festival welcomes submissions of all forms of audiovisual work, including narrative films, documentaries, and video-art, from directors, screenwriters, cinematographers, actors, and composers who are current grantees or alumni of the Fulbright Program. The selected works will be screened at the renowned New York Film Academy College of Visual & Performing Arts (NYFA) in Los Angeles (Burbank Campus), the host partner of the festival. www.nyfa.edu

The Fulbright Association - Los Angeles Film Festival is a non-competitive event.

A prestigious jury of industry professionals and Fulbright grantees and administrators will select the works to be included in the Festival's program.

All submissions must have English subtitles.

The Festival will not offer transportation or accommodation to those individuals whose work is selected for screening.

FULBRIGHT ASSOCIATION - LOS ANGELES FILM FESTIVAL 2019: Official Rules (Terms & Conditions)
SUBMISSION OF AN ENTRY CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE FESTIVAL RULES.

1) FESTIVAL DESCRIPTION: The Fulbright Association, Greater Los Angeles Chapter is offering eligible Fulbright grantees and alumni the opportunity to enter the FULBRIGHT ASSOCIATION - LOS ANGELES FILM FESTIVAL 2019 for an opportunity to showcase their work at the renowned New York Film Academy College of Visual and Performing Arts in Los Angeles (Burbank Campus).

2) ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to enter the Festival, you must
(a) be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry
(b) be a current grantee or alumni of the Fulbright Program.
(c) have been the film’s primary director, producer, cinematographer, screenwriter, composer, or cast member.

3) FESTIVAL PERIOD: Films must be submitted to the Festival for initial judging by Friday, March 31st, 2019 at 11:59pm PDT. Finalists will be notified by Monday, April 15th, 2019, and will be required to submit final cuts of their films to the FULBRIGHT ASSOCIATION - LOS ANGELES FILM FESTIVAL 2019 by April 25, 2019 at 11:59pm PDT. The Festival reserves the right to extend the submission deadline, or modify this dates at it's own discretion.

4) HOW TO ENTER:
Submissions must be made through FilmFreeway by Sunday, March 31st, 2019, at 11:59 pm.
(a) The entry must be in video format, according to FilmFreeway submissions requirements.
(b) If chosen as a finalist, filmmaker must be able to provide a high-resolution digital copy of the film (QuickTime or .MOV files, 24FPS or 23.97FPS, and at least 1080p) by April 25th, 2018 at 11:59pm PDT to the FULBRIGHT ASSOCIATION FILM FESTIVAL administration. Failure to meet this deadline may result in the film’s removal from the program.
c) The submission will have to specify the year and country of your Fulbright and your affiliated institution or institution attended during your Fulbright grant.
d) Submitted movies will need to have English subtitles to be screened.

5) FILM CONTENT
a) Films can be of any length, although there is a preference for films under 10 minutes long.
b) Films can be any genre.
d) The Festival reserves the right to disqualify any Film and/or entrant that does not comply with the Official Festival Rules.
e) The Festival reserves the right to resolve any issues not provided for in this document at its discretion.

6) PRIZES:
The FULBRIGHT ASSOCIATION - LOS ANGELES FILM FESTIVAL is NOT a competitive event. However, the organization reserves the right to offer gifts and acknowledgments to the artists present at the event at it’s discretion, or establish an audience-voted award the day of the event.
The Festival will not offer transportation or accommodation to those individuals whose work is selected for screening.

7) Selection of Films:
A number of films will be selected from all eligible entries sby a selection committee formed by members of the Fulbright Association and faculty and staff of the New York Film Academy. The decisions of the committee will be final and binding.

Selected films will be presented at a public screening at the NEW YORK FILM ACADEMY in Los Angeles. The New York Film Academy bears no responsibility for the FULBRIGHT ASSOCIATION - LOS ANGELES FILM FESTIVAL’s decisions.

The filmmakers selected to show their works at the Festival will be notified by e-mail or telephone by April 15th, 2019.

8) GENERAL: No correspondence regarding entries will be entered into with entrants by the Festival, except as provided in the Official Rules. By entering the Festival, you agree that you have no right to bring (and you covenant and agree not to bring) any claim, action, or proceeding of any kind or nature whatsoever against The Fulbright Association and its partners, including the New York Film Academy, affiliated companies, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising and promotional agencies, and all of their respective agents, employees, directors, officers, shareholders, successors and assigns (collectively "Releasees") in connection with the Festival. By entering and/or accepting prizes, you agree to be bound by the Official Festival Rules and the Judges’ decisions and to release all Releasees from any and all liability, loss, injury, or damage of any kind arising out of or in connection with their participation in the Festival or with respect to awarding, receipt, possession, use and/or misuse of any prize or participation in any prize-related activities. In addition, by entering the Festival and/or accepting prizes, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless all Releasees for all claims arising from the Film and/or a breach of any representation or warranty made by you herein.
As a condition of being selected for the Festival, it's required to grant the Festival the right to use the winner’s name, biographical information, photograph, likeness, voice, statements and/or image for advertising, publicity and Festival purposes without territorial, time or use limitations, including without limitation online announcements, without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
The Festival reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who (i) tampers with, or attempts to tamper with, the entry process; or (ii) violates any of the Official Festival Rules.

9) INTERNET: The Festival assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. The Festival and/or its agents are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by The Festival on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to computers, entrant’s or any other person’s computer or any other property, relating to or resulting from participation in the Festival or downloading any materials in the Festival.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE FESTIVAL IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE FESTIVAL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

10) PRIVACY / PERSONAL INFORMATION. By entering the Festival, you are deemed to have accepted the provisions of Fulbright Association, Greater Los Angeles Chapter, and the New York Film Academy’s privacy policy, located at www.nyfa.edu (click on “privacy policy” link at bottom of page) and you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure, by The Fulbright Association, and New York Film Academy, of your biographical information (including, but not limited to, name, telephone number, address, and e-mail address), and photograph, likeness, voice, statements and/or image for (i) the administration of the Festival including, but not limited to, the posting of the Film on any Internet website or social media of the The Festival’s choosing, and the announcement of winners and awarding and delivery of prizes; and (ii) unless otherwise indicated by you, for market and consumer research purposes.

11) GOVERNING LAW: This Festival is subject to all federal, state, and local laws. This Festival and Official Rules are governed and interpreted by the laws of the State of California (US) without regard to its conflict of law provisions

12) THE FESTIVAL: This Festival is organized by THE FULBRIGHT ASSOCIATION, Los Angeles chapter, and hosted by the New York Film Academy.
