** WHAT IS THE CREATURE FEATURE COMPETITION? **

Frankenstein. Nosferatu. The Toxic Crusader. The Creature from the Black Lagoon. Legendary creatures which have sparked the imaginations of audiences for all cinematic history.

And now it's your turn. Make a monster film. Present it at a fan convention. And 100% of profits go to charity!

The Creature Feature Competition (CFC), hosted by Wicked Window Productions is a chance for you to bring a cinematic creature to life.

Grab your crew, pack your monster make-up, and make a film. Join the 2-week film challenge or submit a previously created piece to the festival. It’s your call!

** WHO CAN ENTER? **

The CFC is open to filmmakers at any level, so if this is your first film of your 40th, you're welcome to join! And although the films will be shown in Tampa, anyone from anywhere in the world can participate. Whether you're in Seattle or Senegal, St. Petersburg, Florida or St. Petersburg, Russia, we encourage you to join.

** WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ENTER THE FILM CHALLENGE? **

If you decide to create a new creature feature, during the kick-off event, you and your team will be assigned a random creature category and genre. You then have two (2) weeks to make a short film that is at least five (5) minutes in length. Films created for the competition are eligible for all of the awards as long as they meet all of the requirements stated in the rules.

** IS THIS FOR CHARITY? **

YES! 100% of profits go to charity! Over the past several years, we've donated more than $3,000 to Kids and Canines, a charity which works with at-risk teens, teaching them how to train assistance dogs. You can read more about them at http://KidsAndCanines.org.

Remember, the contest personnel all volunteer their time, meaning more of your entry fee can go directly to charity.

** WHAT ABOUT MY FILM RIGHTS? **

YOU KEEP ALL RIGHTS TO YOUR FILM! None of this "we own it, sign away your rights to us" stuff other competitions use. Of course, there is more to that, so be sure to read the small print when you have a chance, but we're filmmakers too, and we work to be fair.

  • This festival was SO much fun to participate in. My team and I had a blast making our short. The festival is wonderfully communicative, and the event itself was a lot of fun and well-organized. We were honored by the great feedback we received (we received feedback! That's something no other festival we have ever been in has ever done for us!). Can't wait until the next challenge!
