Writer-director Catherine Loerke is a doctor who believes she can heal more people through stories than surgery. Her heartfelt TV dramedies center weird, funny, emotionally repressed characters navigating crises of womanhood, forced to get out of their heads and into their hearts. Cat draws on her experiences as a surgeon, management consultant, corporate DEI expert, and Hollywood assistant (yes, Mel Gibson put out cigarettes in the very coffee that she made!) when writing women fighting to own their power. Cat was recently staffed in the writers room for a series in development at The Film TV. She is a WGAE Writers Room Fellow and Script Pipeline Finalist (Top 0.2%) with her pilot script IN VITRO VERITAS, and the writer-director of the short film SAND MAMA, a NYFA Women’s Fund grant winner soon to be released in festivals. Education: BA, Stanford; MD, Yale; MFA, Brooklyn College. You can find Cat at catherineloerke.com or @catalonius on IG/Twitter.
