From the ethereal to the atrocious, the Buskopolis Festival of Cinematic Oddities explores the square pegs of movie history as well as the proud misfits of present-day filmdom who defy genre, without concern for vintage, budget or notoriety.

We accept any genre (narrative, documentary, animation, all-ages, experimental) - with an emphasis on oddball, underground, art, weird, handmade or otherwise unclassifiable bits of flotsam.

Submissions are limited to a maximum running time of 20 minutes.

Films from any and all eras are strongly desired.

All accepted filmmakers are encouraged to attend the festival. Q&A will be held after each screening.

The festival takes place at the historic Clifton Theater in downtown Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, USA, within walking distance of restaurants, the shopping district, and a short drive to Raystown Lake, the largest man-made lake in the state.

All accepted filmmakers will receive entry fee waivers to all future festivals - limit of one waiver per year.

  • One of the most unique festivals I've had the privilege to be a part of. Communication and programming are amazing, as is the venue. I'm so proud my film's been recognized as a cinematic oddity - no higher praise - and that it screened alongside so many offbeat gems, past and present. Highly recommended!

  • Unfortunately, I couldn't attend due to the cost of air travel. I can attest to the excellent communication throughout the process.

A Festival that lives up to its name in Curated Shorts and restored Repertory features. We received great hospitality from the organizers, the other filmmakers were lovely, and the venue was classy. The audience was robust and engaged with the films, and the Q&As were lively and lengthy. This is a solid festival that knows what it is.
