  • Had a really lovely time at the 1261 festival in Grenada. This was really special for us as the Caribbean features heavily in our film, and one of the protagonists, my mother is from Grenada so it provided the perfect opportunity to go back to an island I last visited 38 years ago. Much respect to the founder Meschida Phillip and her team for programming a festival that screened some really interesting films and giving a platform for filmmakers from the Caribbean diaspora to showcase their art. This festival will go from strength to strength. Thank you. x

It was an absolute honour to have my film 'Wax Print included in the inaugural 1261 Grenadian Film Fest for it's Caribbean premiere. I felt like I was treated with respect and courtesy, every step of the way from acceptance to screening. Meschida is an absolute legend! Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend in person so I cannot comment on Networking and Hospitality, but I'm sure it was great. I believe this festival will grow from strength to strength and I can't wait to showcase my future films at future editions of this great festival. Peace, Aiwan
